The new creative season is opened in Pedvāle
14.06.2010.

On 11 June the new creative season “Stone. Colour” was opened in Pedvāle Open Air Art Museum.

“Stone. Colour” continues the creative activities of Pedvāle Museum that have been going on for several years and are especially focused on researching the creative potential of stone. This year stone will be creatively explored in relation with the notion of colour.

Artists who took up the conception proposed by Pedvāle have created twenty two new environment art objects prepared for the new season.

The season opening party started with Laura Pīgozne’s paintings’ exhibition “Cleaning up the Earth” and Uldis Balga’s art object “Formatisation 6” in the tavern “Dāre”. Sculptor Ojārs Feldbergs invited artists and guests to attend the Pedvāle experimental stone plantation where stone seeds from Vietnam, Thailand and Israel were planted, thus continuing the stone planting experiment that was started in 2007.

Later during the event when viewers walked through Pedvāle Park, they were presented with the new art objects of the season “Stone. Colour”: works created during the symposium of environmental art “In Pedvāle Bushes”, the sculpture “Intrusive Domain” by the Dutch artist Chris Peterson as well as the exhibition of environment art objects “Stone. Colour. Response” made by the sculptors Kenneth Pane and Carl Billingsley and young artists from the Buffalo State College and East Carolina University in the USA. This year Pedvāle walking paths are complemented with a new route and part of the freshly made works are situated in the territory of the Park so far not used for exhibitions.

Pedvāle Open Air art Museum invites to explore the new exhibition of open-air objects. The Park will be open to visitors until the very end of the season in October.
