The flag of Ukraine was raised in the environmental art object “Meeting” created by Ojārs Feldbergs in Pedvāle Art Park.
This object of environmental art is dedicated to the Constitutional Assembly of the Republic of Latvia and is a symbol of democracy and independence.
Considering current political situation and Russia’s military aggression in Ukraine, Pedvale Art Park www.pedvale.lv has decided to support artists and other creatives from Ukraine, offering Pedvale International Residency space.
We will be able to host up to 7 artists in March and 7 artists in April. Artists stay in our refurbished manor house – built at the beginning of the 19th century – in fully-furnished private bedrooms with private bathrooms and they have access to the kitchen, common areas, laundry, Pedvale Art Park grounds, car parking etc. The Pedvale International Residency will cover travel costs in the teritory of Latvia, as well as accommodation and studio use. Studios can be used as private or shared. We offer 4 studious on the ground floor of the manor house ~30 square meters each and 3 smaller ones in the basement. Artists have 24 hour access to the workspace. It is possible to work outside in the sculpture park as well. Artists are responsible for travel till Latvia, supplying their own materials and food.
